Andrea McNeil, born April 1, 1961 in Heber City, Utah to Warren H. and Fae Wilde McNeil.  She died December 3, 2024, at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Andrea was the 6th of 7 siblings born to Warren and Fae, she was our baby sister and we adored her.  She was raised on her beloved farm in Francis, Utah.  She loved the farm, the animals and working with Dad irrigating the pastures.  She had a vast knowledge of every ditch on the South end of the valley, when the turns came on and who they belonged to.  She also helped Mom in the milk barn and with the baby calves.  She had many barnyard cats, beloved dogs, but her favorite was her horse, Jasper.  Andrea had a knack of calling the cows from the pasture to the barn and could successfully bring them all home.  She learned to cook in the family home and became an excellent cook on her own, she could taste any dish and tell you the ingredients.

Andrea was educated in the South Summit School District and graduated May 1979.  She later studied at Weber State College in Ogden graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor in Theater Arts, and a minor in Physical Ed.  After graduation she moved back into the valley and applied for a job as an EMT and Paramedic with the South Summit Ambulance Service, and began a 37-year career in doing a job she loved and enjoyed.  She also applied to teach at  the South Summit School District and in 1989 began a career as a teacher, mentor, cheerleader advisor, student council advisor, she oversaw the best and most fun Homecoming Events.  She was loved by students, faculty, and staff.  The profound amount of service she rendered is staggering, there has been so many recipients of her kindness, many never knew it was Andrea that helped them with any number of things.  She supported every fundraiser for every niece and nephew and many who were not related.

Her service as an EMT and Paramedic reached everyone at one time or another, she was always on call and was responsible for treating and saving the lives of countless people.

Andrea leaves behind her siblings, Dixie and Eric Averett, Earl and Billie Sue McNeil, DeMont and Kristy McNeil, and Jay and Mary Anne McNeil, many nieces and nephews and beloved cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Warren H. and Fae Wilde McNeil, a brother Allen W. McNeil, and a sister Dorothy May and John Sullivan.

We will have a Celebration or Life and public viewing at the Francis 2nd Ward Relief Society Room and Cultural Hall, Friday, December 6, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and a private viewing Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Crandall Funeral Home followed by graveside services in the Francis Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
