Alvaro Edgar Hernandez-Ibarra

Alvaro Edgar Hernandez-Ibarra, 36, passed away on February 28, 2025, in Burien, Washington. He was born on November 25, 1988, in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, Mexico.  Alvaro's journey through life was filled with passion, creativity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Alvaro was a true artist at heart, he played the banjo, harmonica, and guitar, he played in several bands and cherished every moment he spent on stage, sharing his gift with live audiences. He was heavily involved int the punk scene and enjoyed the thrill that went with it. When not making music, he found joy in reading, writing poetry, and woodworking, skateboarding, and making his own clothes.

He is survived by his father, Cuauthemoc Hernandez-Jimenez and his mother, Maria Esther Hernandez-Ibarra; his brothers, Jose Hernandez and Rojelio Hernandez, and his sisters, Andrea Hernandez and Yazmin Hernandez. He also leaves behind a niece, Sofia Hernandez, and nephews, Max Hernandez and Mateo Cervantes, along with niece Xilena Cervantes.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Hernandez, as well as his grandmothers, Emilia Loma and Gabriella Jimenez and his grandfathers, Macario Ibarra and Evaristo Hernandez,

Friends and family are invited to a viewing at Crandall Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, immediately preceding a Rosary from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Viewing will also take place at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 837 Center Street, on March 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery
