Alton Verness Frazier was a wonderful brother, father, and grandfather. He was a good man, duly told by all that knew him. Alton passed away from interstitial lung disease on November 6, 2016, at the age of 80. He was born in Oakley, Utah, where he lived for many years later in his life. Alton graduated from the University of Utah in 1963, with a bachelors in political science, and was a pi kappa alpha during his tenure. In his prodigious career, Alton worked for the Utah Fish and Game department. He was the director of the Utah Travel Council, as well as the public affairs director for the Department of Natural Resources. Additionally, Alton was an established realtor, forming his own real estate company. He sat color commentator alongside Bill Howard, calling games for the Utah Stars basketball team.
Alton loved Utah, especially his hometown of Oakley, where he served on the city council for many years. He took great pleasure in being outdoors; he was an ardent fisherman, and an avid gardener. He loved spending time with his family. His last years were spent in Ivins, Utah, where he enjoyed plenty of golf, another one of his true passions. Alton is preceded in death by his parents, Verness White Frazier and Wanda Sarah Frazier. He is survived by his three siblings, Sharlene, Bob, and Scott, his three children, Cliff (Nicole) Frazier, Jennifer (Andy) Robertson, and Bryn Ramjoue, and his five grandchildren, Mitch, Cameron, Bailey, Ben, and Cooper.
Funeral services to be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11 am at the LDS North Bench chapel, 1224 west state road 32 Oakley Utah, 84055, with a viewing held one hour prior to services.
