Alfred Skillin

June 6, 1932 — August 27, 2016

Alfred Harold Skillin, 84, passed away August 27, 2016 in South Ogden, Utah.
He was born on June 6, 1932 in Chico, California to Alfred Harry and Wilma Gertrude (Lattemore) Skillin.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  While stationed in Germany he trained guard dogs and even brought one back with him.  He loved Bosco, who we heard about for years.
He married Lois Stoddard on March 25, 1955 in Mountain View, Wyoming.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, July 27, 1956. Lois passed away on Feburary 9, 2010.  They were married for nearly 55 years.
After their marriage the couple made their home in Durham California where Harold worked alongside of his father and brothers ranching.  Later they moved to Wyoming where Harold worked for General Chemical Trona Mine as a machinist for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, ranching, metal detecting, photography, and raising bees.
Survived by his children: Alan Harold (Debbie) Skillin; Gary Lee (Cindy) Skillin; Merrill Fred Skillin; Sheri Jean (Chris) Paulson; and daughter–in-law, Laural Skillin.   Also 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Wilma Skillin; his wife: Lois Skillin; a son: Spencer Lyle Skillin; brothers: Robert and David Skillin
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Mountain View LDS Ward Chapel.   Viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the church and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
Interment will be in the Millburne Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.
